This is our annual fundraiser for Polk Democrats.
Our Master of Ceremonies will be Mr. Woody Wilbanks,
past President of the Rainbow Ridge LGBTA Democratic Caucus.

Senator Bill Nelson, Florida’s Gubernatorial candidates, Andrew Gillum, Gwen Graham, Chris King and Philip Levine, PLUS — our statewide candidates for Attorney General, Chief Financial Officer and Commissioner of Agriculture.
ALSO — many of our local and state elected Democratic officials and Democratic candidates.
We will also be honoring our 2107 Democratic Man and Woman of the year
and our Guiding Stars during the program portion of the evening.

U.S. Representative Darren Soto (D-FL09) will host a town hall in the Winter Haven City Commissioners’ Chambers that will focus on Senior Issues and the future of Social Security and Medicare.
His guest will be ranking member of the House Social Security Subcommittee, Rep. John Larson (D-CT01). He recently held a hearing on the Future of the Social Security Number.
Social Security Isn’t an Entitlement — Social Security is our nation’s most successful insurance program. For 80+ years, Social Security has been a promise to all Americans that they would have a chance to retire with dignity after a lifetime of hard work.
Larson celebrated a new, Bipartisan Law Protecting Vulnerable Social Security Beneficiaries with Disability Rights in Connecticut on May 7.

TODAY! Thursday, August 2, the Florida Press Association and WPBF 25 News will be hosting a Democratic gubernatorial debate. All five candidates will be attending, and this will mark the fifth and final time that they will debate before the August 28 primary. The debate will be carried live in every television market across the state and live online at WTBF.com.
