If you believe:
- It’s time to stop treating immigrants who have lived, worked and raised their families in the U.S. for years like interlopers;
- Families should not be torn apart because of immigration status;
- Immigrants should not be forced to accept substandard wages under the threat of deportation;
- An overhaul of immigration laws is long overdue;
Then join us for this informative call to action. Hear how you can make the difference in the lives of friends, neighbors, relatives and employees right here in Florida. Florida has one of the largest immigrant communities in the country. We should be leading the way to resolve immigration issues, and it will happen when we all present a united front.
This event will prove to be one of the many highlights for Polk Co. Democrats as we kick off the 2014 Campaign Year with a power-house of local and national policymakers at the Ritz Theater in downtown Winter Haven on Sat, March 1.

The meeting features Valleri Crabtree who will share information on the ‘No Labels’ non-profit organization. No Labels is a citizens’ movement of Democrats, Republicans and independents dedicated to a new politics of problem solving. The constituency for this movement existed for years before it had a name -– built by Americans frustrated by watching Washington spend more time on politics than common-sense problem solving. But in the spring of 2010 the idea of No Labels was born, when the Affordable Care Act -– also known as “Obamacare” –- was passed without a single Republican vote.
