The Florida Democratic Party has suggested that all County DECs, Clubs and Caucuses designate Saturday, May 26th as a Day of Action. We NEED to do this so we stop thinking about what we should do and start putting those ideas into actions. Now is the time to organize a precinct canvassing, meet and greet, phone-banking, postcard party or anything else that you think will improve your precinct’s outcomes in Getting Out The Vote! Even if only 1 or 2 people come out for your event, it will be a start!
For those who still need some help, the Membership and Precinct Organzing Committee will have a Blue Wave Action Launch for Precinct Captains going on all day on May 26 at the Haines City Office. If you need help finding volunteers in your precinct, one of the MPOC Coordinators will show you how to make a targeted list in your precinct and canvas, phone bank or send postcards to find those volunteers. We can help you with precinct strategy, canvassing lists and tips and tricks to energize voters. Bring your laptop and a charged phone.
Briefly, the best targeted list to find precinct volunteers is your Tier 1 and 2s and your Hot Dems. The best targeted list for increasing the midterm voting turnout is your Warm Dems, particularly by increasing the numbers that vote by mail. Other good tips to increase voting turnout can be found at https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/how-science-can-help-get-out-the-vote/.
You can sign up for the Blue Wave Action Launch here.
