U.S. Representative Darren Soto (D-FL09) will host a town hall in the Winter Haven City Commissioners’ Chambers that will focus on Senior Issues and the future of Social Security and Medicare.

His guest will be ranking member of the House Social Security Subcommittee, Rep. John Larson (D-CT01). He recently held a hearing on the Future of the Social Security Number.

Social Security Isn’t an Entitlement — Social Security is our nation’s most successful insurance program. For 80+ years, Social Security has been a promise to all Americans that they would have a chance to retire with dignity after a lifetime of hard work.
Larson celebrated a new, Bipartisan Law Protecting Vulnerable Social Security Beneficiaries with Disability Rights in Connecticut on May 7.

All five candidates will be attending, and this will mark the fifth and final time that they will debate before the August 28 primary. The debate will be carried live in every television market across the state and live online at WTBF.com.

All Precinct Captains, Dem Club members, and Blue Wave Surfers are invited to join the Polk Democrats for a Blue Wave Knockathon this Saturday, 9/29/18. We will meet at 9 AM at the Haines City Dem Headquarters, 651 E Main St., Ste. 10, Haines City, FL 33844.

Walking lists and materials will be provided. Wear comfortable shoes, a hat, your favorite candidate t-shirt, and a smile.

This is a great way to learn the ropes if you are new to canvassing. Newbies will be paired with experienced canvassers. Bring your friends!
