Healthcare for All Rally and March – Fight for ACA @ Corner of Alden St and Princeton St
Feb 25 @ 2:15 pm – 4:15 pm

The future of our country and planet are at stake. Our job: Fight Back.

Donald Trump and his Republican friends thought it was going to be easy. They would get to Washington and ram through their agenda, taking health care away from 30 million Americans, privatizing Medicare, and defunding Planned Parenthood while giving huge tax cuts to their millionaire and billionaire friends.

Their plans have begun to unravel, but only because of the tremendous levels of grassroots actions we’ve witnessed — town halls overflowing with constituents, rallies across the country, and of course the unprecedented outpouring of activism during the Women’s March.

We cannot stop. On Saturday, February 25th, volunteer-led rallies will be held outside of elected representative offices across the U.S. It is up to YOU to ensure that your Representatives and Senators know the American people won’t sit idly by as Congress sells out working class America. We fully expect our elected officials to do their jobs and represent the needs of the people they were elected to serve, not just the billionaire class.

Please join me and thousands of Americans this Saturday to say “enough is enough” by attending a rally to defend healthcare as a right in your community.

Elected in 2016, Darren Soto represents Central Florida in Congress. The 9th District includes all of Osceola and parts of Orange and Polk Counties. Serving for a decade in the Florida Legislature, Darren is the first Floridian of Puerto Rican descent to serve in Congress. Soto graduated from Rutgers University and George Washington University School of Law. His hobbies include playing guitar, pastel painting, and kayaking. Initially joining his local Orlando Young Democrats club to make friends, he was soon encouraged to run for the Florida House. At the age of 29, he ran, won, and has brought a sense of humility to public service ever since.

Meeting with Osceola Sheriff Gibson
Mar 23 @ 9:30 am – 11:00 am

Just a short while ago, a federal judge in Hawaii put a stop to President Trump’s latest Muslim ban only a few hours before it was set to go into effect at midnight.
Once again, the rule of law has prevailed.
We are of course happy with this result but recognize that the fight is far from over. The only way to fix a Muslim ban is to get rid of it permanently, and the Trump Administration has shown no sign of giving up this fight.
But make no mistake, neither will we. The ACLU is going to continue to fight President Trump in the courts, and with the launch of People Power we are taking the fight to the streets as well.
But that means we can’t rest on tonight’s victory or the massive organizing success of our Resistance Trainings last weekend. We must keep going. So I have to ask you to do something important:
Can you attend a local organizing event near you? Meeting together with People Power activists is the best way to carry our movement forward in communities across the country.
Meeting with Sheriff Gibson
in Kissimmee, Florida 34744
Thursday, March 23, 9:30 AM

I know that right after the election there was a tremendous amount of fear and angst about what it means to have Donald Trump as our president for the next four years. But what we are proving, together, since his inauguration is that we’re not stuck with Donald Trump as our president, it’s him who is stuck with us.
In solidarity,
Faiz Shakir
